We partnered with Miller Lite to create a bar experience for festival goers thats champions the authentic music fans. Our completely custom-fabricated structure became a go-to respite for musics fans to get a drink, re-charge, and raise a toast to the bands they love. We designed everything from the tent structure to the furniture to a massive illuminated steel awning that served as a beacon for the brand. By raising the standard for festival hospitality, we earned a second year of festival business with Miller Lite and created buzz amongst other brands interested in creating similarly unique and compelling experiences.

CODE THE ROAD
To recognize the 10 year anniversary of Google Maps, we embarked on an epic cross-country road trip, celebrating the Maps API with everyone from tech developers to Elmo to a motley crew of Harley Davidson diehards. Our 1959 GM Bus, which we gutted and turned into a mobile museum, traveled over 3,000 miles across the United States and inspired a second tour in Europe the following year.

Code the Road: A Look Back at Our Trip
Juxtaposing the delicacy of porcelain with the shape of heavy chain, this surface-mounted desk lamp encourages the user to experience by hand the pleasures of texture and compositional possibility. 8 feet of chain and a free-standing traditional lamp base are yours with which to play, touch, and to create an entirely unique lighting experience.

RABAT GRAND THEATRE
The monumental Grand Theatre de Rabat acts as a new cultural nexus for the political capital of Morocco. Punctuated cove lighting snakes around the curvilinear facade of this monolithic stone structure, the shape of which appears to emerge from the desert landscape along the Bou Regreg River. A series of illuminated skylights and large-scale glass entrances allow the building to “glow from within,” creating visual transparency into the 6-story-high grand foyer. Inside the theatre, in-grade floodlights dramatically enhance the auditorium’s faceted golden walls, while outside, visitors wander through a stepped amphitheater subtly contoured by continuous linear lighting at the stairways and balustrades.

CHIVAS THE VENTURE
For the second annual culmination of Chivas The Venture's year-long social entrepreneurship competition, we created a visually stunning and interactive evening to celebrate five finalists being awarded a share of $1Million in funding in order to make the world a better place. Hosted by Trevor Noah and overseen by a panel of celebrity judges from the philanthropic and entertainment sectors, finalists pitched their ideas on a custom built 360° stage in front of hundreds of spectators and peers. In adjoining party spaces, guests learned the story of the Venture through oversized graphics and digital viewfinders and were able to contribute to the theme of "People Powering Change" through an interactive photo installation in the afterparty.

GOOGLE/GRACE HOPPER 2017
2017 marked MKG’s third year partnering with Google at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. Google is a company that supports and celebrates students and professionals in the STEM fields, giving them the building blocks to shape their futures. Figuratively building off that sentiment, we created a shapes-inspired installation that stood out in a crowd of trade show booths.

HEINEKEN UCL TROPHY TOUR
For the United States leg of the Heinken UCL Trophy Tour, MKG delivered an immersive fan experience based on precedents set in Europe, South America, and Asia. This unique exhibition presented a history of some of UEFA's greatest moments, highlighting memorabilia from star players, engaging visitors with interactive games and educational apps, and finally culminating in an opportunity to be photographed with one of the most coveted trophies in soccer. Starting in New York, then moving on to Dallas and LA, the design was specifically tailored to maximize visibility at each venue and to solidify the Heineken brand as an integral part of the UEFA legacy.

NM FANTASY GIFTS
For the first time ever, we brought to life the magical and outrageous world of the Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gift Catalogue. Custom-designed glass vitrines housed vignettes invoking five incredible, purchasable experiences, ranging from a $250K motorcycle designed by Keanu Reeves to an actual trip to outer space. Silver fabric engineered to look like wrapping paper curled away from the edges of each glowing cube, revealing rare bottles of whiskey, crystal-encrusted Jimmy Choos, and a view of earth from high above the atmosphere.

LA MAR AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL
Overlooking the Miami Skyline and the Biscayne Bay, La Mar at Mandarin Oriental offers a high-end, contemporary dining experience further enhanced by thoughtful and evocative architectural lighting design. Low-profile LED downlights are custom-bracketed to fit precisely between the slats of a dropped wooden-rod ceiling, providing a base layer of illumination offset by the number of well-choreographed decorative luminaires located throughout the interior and exterior dining areas. Warm-tinted glass and contemporary crystal chandeliers enhance the intimacy of the space, with an illuminated green wall adding an extra layer of tropical lushness. Simple, yet highly-refined details allowed the project team to deliver a successful restaurant design in less than 8 months from conception to opening.
